The concept of  “Right to Education” is often just reduced to mere words instead of providing education to the children from the under privileged sections of society. Gone are the days when children from all caste and creed assembled before a teacher, known as the “GURU” and collectively received the sweet nectar of education. Today, that sweet nectar is reserved for people who can afford it. Today, Education is a right for one but a luxury for the other. We often fail to ask ourselves that “Why should Education be a luxury?” A child labourer or a child working as domestic help in our houses would probably be able to answer that.

 

We, at Friends of Rural Development,  put our efforts to move towards a society that is devoid of such a disparity and where every child can enjoy the “luxury” that education has become. But, we can’t walk on this path alone. We need your support to help a child realize his/her dreams. A contribution, however big or small, can go a long way in transforming a dream into reality.
